Fake Myki survey downloads child porn

AUTHORITIES have detected a fake survey circulating on social networking sites which, when accessed, downloads child pornography to the user's computer.

The false survey includes questions about Victoria's transport ticketing system Myki and mimics the organisation's brand, but is not connected to it, Victoria Police say.

A Victoria Police spokeswoman confirmed the virus had originated in Australia and officers had interviewed a 57-year-old Mitcham man over the matter.

However, no charges have been laid.

1. Things like this scare the shit out of me

I'd rather have an actual computer virus that erases my hard drive, then one like this. The porn gets found somehow, and even if you could prove in court that you had no way of knowing it was there, it's too late: you've already made the news!

3. Think of that the next time you read a headline

So-and-so was taken into custody after "child porn was found on their computer". Sure, there are people with aberrant sexual urges that need psychological help, but these seven words are much too useful to the powers that be. FAR more useful than the old phrases for disappearing people, like being an "anti-soviet agitator" or "having Jewish grandparents".
