3. So what can be done is the question
Edited on Fri May-20-11 01:26 PM by MadMaddie
They should not receive any government money. They already are tax exempt and that's all they should get.

4. I'm also against the tax exemptions, unless it is a small community church.

5. I agree with you
I believe these mega churches use the infrastructure of cities and states and don't pay their fare share.

8. If you think about it, any money which goes back into the church is deductible.
so taxes would only be on profits. Why on earth should a church have profits?

12. They would have profits because they are using the money
to pay preachers ridiculous salaries and for political efforts.

I bet if any true audit were done we would see very little of the money going towards charity and the people in the churches.

6. And as "Liberty" University pumps the rabid Christian venom into their students and sends them out
to spew their hate on the rest of us.......we get to pay for it? What a crock of shit, Federal money to train right wing Christian hate mongers who then enter society to spew their hate and psychotic religious views. How has this been quietly going on? I don't want my tax money going to people who hate me just because I was born gay. Wonder where the Democratic outcry is? These Republicans are so pathetic, no Federal dollars for Womens choice, but it's ok to spend Federal money to brainwash future, rabid, right wing, (allegedly Christian) politicians, judges, lawyers and others who will use what they learn at this Christian nut-house, to adversely affect our country by ignoring the separation of church and state. This should be investigated and stopped immediately.

7. Is Liberty even accredited?
Last I heard, it's "academic" standing was lower than the University of Phoenix's.
