(CNN) -- When Ayah Baradiyya stepped out of the door of the large house she shared with her parents and 12 siblings more than a year ago, her parents could not have known this would be the last time they would see their daughter alive.

On her final visit, Ayah returns lifeless, wrapped in a blanket in the back of an ambulance, to be buried in the village cemetery. Thousands of people follow the procession to the cemetery or watch from the streets and rooftops.

"We kidnapped her. We took a car, a Peugeot 205, parked the car by the well, threw the girl inside the well and then left," he recounts in a cold manner.

Whether she died instantly or was left suffering at the bottom of the well will remain unknown. During his interrogation, the uncle told the police that after throwing her in the well, they closed the hatch and placed a large stone on top of it.

1. This was no honor killing.
It was done without the knowledge or permission of her parents, and the crime was hidden from the world.

It was committed by a sicko uncle who was probably lusting after her, jealous that she was about to marry a man his own age when HE wanted her.

This is not to say it would be any less of a crime if it WAS an honor killing, but the uncle calling it that is just an attempt to get leniency or fundie approval.

3. it's no better or worse than any other heinous fucking so-called "honor killing"
I give a flying fuck what the sicko motives are for ANY honor killing. they're all demented fuckwads who deserve to be thrown in jail for life.

4. You got it.
"Honor killing" is as much an oxymoron as "giant shrimp".

2. Lovely men....
Edited on Fri May-20-11 03:21 PM by whathehell
I read about another lovely "brother" who murdered his

sister for some honor shit...His sentence was all of about

six months in jail. He's now walking around, free as a

bird, unburdened, it seems, with even a bit of remorse.

An interviewer doing a story on the charming murder

custom, sought him out and asked him if he ever thinks

about the sister he killed...He shrugged and

said "no".

5. RIP Ayah Baradiyya
You sure didn't get peace in your life. It's times like this I wish fervently that I believed in hell.
