Shouldn't the rapture threads be moved to 9/11 forum?
Or the lounge?

I mean, most everyone knows this is a BS prediction by just another crazy guy, and threads along these lines are usually moved to 9/11 forum. I don't think anyone is taking it seriously anyway, so it is also a candidate for the lounge as a frivolous humor topic.

what's the problem? What, specifically, is the fear generated by people talking about this topic? What possible reason would people have to not want to see threads about it (especially when they have the ignore thread function)?

Seriously. I'm curious.

It's funny, and it plays to the fundy nutjob contingent of this country who are also responsible for the fucked up state of the Republican Party. So it's current, it's political, it's relevant, and it's certainly worthy of GD imho.

this is an important socio-cultural phenomenon. The connection to the Rethuglican Party is worth celebrating! Play up Rapture Day!

Did we pause for Jim Jones, did we pause for Heaven's Gate, did we pause for Aum Shinrikyo, did we pause for the Branch Dividians etc etc...??

Doomsday cults are highly newsworthy. I want to see what becomes of them when they figure out it's just another day and they need their money back.
