Cops kick cellphone blabbermouth off train
After 16 hours blathering, woman doesn't understand why she got the boot

In an epic incident of the pot calling the kettle rude, a Tigard, Oregon woman said she felt "disrespected" after police escorted her from an Amtrak train mostly because she refused to get off her cellphone — for 16 hours.

<snip>

Beard's rudeness wasn't accommodated by some unknown super phone, but by Amtrak's handy cellphone charging stations.

In a follow-up interview with KATU.com, Beard confirmed she was blathering away on her mobile device, but that "she didn't understand why she had to be escorted off the train."

Like many communal commuter-based agencies, Amtrak does have a policy against obnoxious blathering, specifically in "quiet cars" like the one Beard was annoying her fellow passengers in, again, for 16 hours.

That would drive anyone crazy! Sixteen hours of non-stop blathering? How can anyone talk that long? :wtf:

Good riddance to that Amtrak train ride to hell!

:dem:

1. I am the rare person who doesn't like to chat for hours on the phone...
at home or anywhere... Sure I call friends/family, but I certainly don't stay on the phone hour after hour. And, I am always embarrassed if my calls are overheard by anyone. I just don't get people like this. I truly do not. And, I am about at the threshold of being able to control my urge to dope slap those who loudly chat non-stop in the grocery store, so distracted that they shove their carts into everyone they encounter. Then having delivered a rude glare, they proceed to the check out counter where the poor clerk's questions are rudely ignored, leaving him/her to feel like dirt.

Can I pray that these cretins were raptured somewhere that we will never again see/hear from them?

3. worst blabbermouth of the year award
This woman was in WINCO in the women's restroom. She was in the handicapped stall blabbing away for hours.

That was the end for me, yes, the end!

2. Does Amtrak have a list of people they ban from riding?

If not, they should start one and she should be number one on the list.

Edit: Check it out, they didn't just stop at the next station. They stopped the train at a crossing to throw her ass off and the cops were waiting there!

Train staff eventually asked her to stop using her phone which reportedly led to a "verbal altercation" and police being called.

The train was called to a halt at a crossing just outside Salem, Oregon, where police boarded to remove Ms Beard. She has now been charged with disorderly conduct.

5. It is more likely she was kicked of as a consequence of the confrontation, not just the talking

Although I can't imagine someone insisting on carrying on a telephone conversation while seated in the quiet car.

6. I can salute that.
But the conductor should have done something more to enforce their quiet car rule long before it got to that point.
