The Atheist's Conundrum: Rationalists vs Rapturists and matters of degree.

This is not meant as an attack but rather an explanation and a plea, religious topics seem to be allowed in GD tonight but if it's inappropriate so be it, amen.

I've trained myself over the years to squeeze words out and it's hard to put a bunch of extra words in nowadays so this is kind of short and sweet.

Onward..

To a non religious person it's only a matter of degree between a May 21 Rapturist and a "regular" Rapturist, it's then hard not to go the next step and see a regular Rapturist as only a matter of degree away from someone else who shares a good many beliefs with the Rapturist that seem just as impossible to us but just not the Rapture part.

It's a matter of logical deduction that's hard for us to escape, some (not all) religionists could help us out by acting more rationally about things in the here and now.

A lot of us atheists have been believers at one time in our lives, we know more about religion than any religious group on average, it's hard not to see when religious people break their own self imposed laws and restrictions.

That's about it, sorry for posting so late but I've been thinking about this and it took a while to come out like I wanted it.
