You know, they pray pray pray, and if stuff works out in their favor, their god is benevolent and omnipotent. If things go bad despite their praying and faith, then "god works in mysterious ways".

Same dynamic for the teabaggers: They finally get bit by the policies they literally screamed for, it's someone else's fault.

"I told you so", said even in the most tactful manner will sure as hell not result in a re-examination of their beliefs, but more likely a knuckle sandwich.
