At least one tornado did extensive damage to NE Minneapolis and points north.
The storms hit the western edge of the Twin Cities then moved northeast, leaving debris across Interstate 394 and Highway 100 and reports of a funnel cloud near Forest Lake northeast of St. Paul.

Trees were ripped from the ground in several north Minneapolis neighborhoods, including 12 to 18-inch limbs in Theodore Wirth Park. There were also reports of damage to Brooklyn Center, Blaine and Fridley.

1. I heard there was some damage at 53rd and University
but part of North Mpls looks pretty bad.

I'm in NE Minneapolis (University and Broadway area) - seems ok here but I haven't been out.

All of you. Even Bachmann and co. Please stay safe. Minneapolis is a great place and we don't want to lose anyone up there.

6. I saw some of the damage on the early news this evening.
Terrible. My neighborhood in St. Paul wasn't touched, although the sirens went off three times. I was already working in the basement, so I didn't do anything. Nothing happened anyhow.

The neighborhoods that were damaged don't need any more trouble. Truly.
