Pigs can fly.

I have no evidence that they can fly any I have never seen one fly, but I know it in my heart that they can fly. I don't need proof because science can't explain everything.

I demand that my point of view, that pigs can fly, be taken seriously. It should at the very least be treated on equal footing with the theory that pigs cannot fly, which is, after all, just a theory. I demand that politicians give constant recognition to my view. I demand that schools recognize it and that scientists acknowledge that my view is just as good as theirs, or even better. I shouldn't be forced to pay any taxes while telling people that pigs can fly.

Anyone who thinks this is nuts is an intolerant bigot (just like Hitler and Stalin, who also didn't believe pigs could fly) who wants to persecute me.

But hey, anyone who thinks that it is goats who can fly and not pigs is just a crazy crackpot. I mean, how likely is that?

you don't want to join with those of us who have been called intolerant bigots because we happen to think that people who believe things that have be known to be false for hundreds of years are not exactly informed and, therefore, don't really have things to say about certain topics worth hearing.

but you better not say that or someone will think you're an intolerant bigot. all beliefs must be respected, no matter how much harm they do to others - in some world in which those who hold those beliefs don't want to be held accountable for the harm they do.

And most 'beliefs' include the component of what the person wants to believe also, for other reasons, then people use the excuse of a belief to do what ever they want.
