President Obama hammered an Irish beer(ale?) down and slammed the money on the bar and said ...
...I pay my own way. No fish hooks in his pocket like most Republicans I know.

Classy guy.

Heard that earlier on the news.

2. Don't have a link. It was reported on MSNBC about an hour ago
I will check to see if one of the news services has picked it up and post it later. After I go pee. First things first.

18. I wasn't correcting, I was clarifying
Sort of like "it was an animal(mammal?)" and I said "a bear"--all three can be right, the last is just more specific (and speaks to the question mark of the original).
Slainte!

10. Nice, but how about the Air Fare on Air Froce One and the rest?
Of course if I got all those 'freebies' to go to Ireland, I could at least pay for my own beer.

23. Nope, I guess the irony of someone saying they pay their own way
by chipping in 5 Euros in a Multi-Million dollar trip is lost on some.

"Listen . . . I just want you to know that the President pays his bar tab."

Cheers erupt . . .

(on edit--the Irish use euros now. When I was there, it was still punts, i.e., Irish pounds.)

25. Why is it someone asks about Obama's Air Force One costs but

BUSH SPENT 1100 VACA DAYS IN CRAWFORD THAT COST THE COUNTRY 17 MILLION DOLLARS WITH HIS BACK AND FORTH FLIGHTS. THE STUPD DIDN'T EVEN BOTHER TO SHOW UP FOR WORK FOR ALMOST 50% OF THE 8 YEARS WE PAID HIM FOR???

WHO CARES HOW MUCH AIR FORCE ONE COSTS FOR OBAMA. HE'S ON A DIPLOMATIC JOURNEY TO REPAIR THE HORRORS OF BUSH/REPUBLICAN REGIME THAT MADE THE WORLD HATE AMERICA MORE THAN AT ANY TIME IN HISTORY!

Sorry, I am sick of these coming up every single time Obama goes somewhere. It's so ridiculous while the GOP is giving away billions in taxpayer money to billionaires!

13. Huh?
Paying for your own beer makes you a classy guy?

I dunno. Maybe it's just me, but I always thought "class" was about a whole lot more. Not that I have anything against Pres Obama, because I don't. I think he's a pretty classy guy anyway.

But really...I do know people of all shapes, sizes, and political persuasions who not only pay for their own beer (stuff) but for other people's as well.

That doesn't make them classy...
