Harold Camping: That's My Story, and I'm Sticking To It"
Huffington Post Live Blog's the good pastor's public comments:

"On May 21 this last weekend...God again brought Judgment on the world...We didn't feel any difference," he says, "but we know that God brought Judgment" on the world. "The whole world is under Judgment."

"It won't be a five-month terrible difficulty...that we have learned," said Camping. Instead, he says, the world will end quickly on Oct. 21 without any build up.

A reporter at the Family Radio station: "On Oct. 21, will you give away all your worldly possessions?"

Camping: "I still have to live in my house...I still have to pay my bills...I still have to live until the end. The end is five months away."

"It is true that a few people have" quit jobs or depleted life savings to donate to Family Radio or spread his Judgment Day message, Camping says, but he says he never told people to do that.

When in doubt, double down. Maybe you'll kick the bucket naturally before Oct 21 rolls around.

4. What is distressing is that there are people
who aren't good at thinking for themselves and who actually believe these kinds of predictions. So they'll give away everything, or run up large debt because they honestly don't think they will be here to pay. (I'm discounting the scammers out there) And then, and then, the world goes on, and they have nothing, or a huge debt they have no means of paying because maybe they've quit their job.

This really comes back to what I dislike most about all organized religions, and that is that somewhere they say, You don't need to think for yourself. Just believe what we tell you to, do what we say, and all will be okay. WRONG!! Thinking for oneself, thinking critically, is one of the must crucial and fundamental things everyone must do. Everyone. Okay, everyone above the age of seven or so, but you guys know what I mean.
