Two churches located across the street from each other. At least the Catholics

1. They should have quoted Will Rogers..
Edited on Tue May-24-11 05:52 AM by Fumesucker
That would have really made the heads explode on the other side..

'If there are no dogs in Heaven, then when I die I want to go where they went.'

ETA: It was indeed funny, I got a good chuckle, thanks.

6. It's a photoshop.
Notice that the cars parked in the background never move and the shadow half-way along the bottom rail of the sign doesn't change.

5. It's a church sign generator - not real. Here is a site for making your own church

marquee, and the two marquees pictured are among the selections available.

But it's cute

9. As Obamanaut sez, it's not real, but this one is!
Khyber's Indian Grill vs. Pappadeaux's (in Houston)
Punny Man
Best Sign War
Love thy neighbor even if verbal blasts have marquee value

Examples from above:

Pappadeaux's: "Hiring Today 3-5."

Khyber's: "My You Do Start Them Young!"

Pappadeaux's: "Interviewing Waiters, Busers, Cooks"

Khyber's: "Are You Planning to Get Into the Restaurant Business?"

Pappadeaux's: "Interviewing All Positions."

Khyber's: "We Aren't Going to Take This Lying Down."

Pappadeaux's: "Order Kalamari, Get a Pappa's T-Shirt Free."

Khyber's: "Squid Pro Quo."

14. Yeah, the third link I gave I hadn't seen before
and had some more beauts! If I lived in the area of that restaurant, I would likely be inspired to make a record of all the responses :)

One thing to note about it, too, is that it depends on which way you're driving on that street. If going west, you'll see Pappadeaux's first and then Khyber's, and it will be like in the examples. But if driving east, you'll see Khyber's first, and he'll often do a different message to his neighbor leading up to it, sometimes "Jeopardy"-style. It's a lot of fun :D

of course, that's all to Khyber's benefit....

15. As I recall from an old interview with Kapoor
the managers would love to go back and forth, but corporate "is not amused". Jeez, Khyber's has been doing this for 17 years now!

12. Well, in all fairness to the Catholics, they have more than their share
of Irish priest. They have a wicked sense of humor, though the real staunchy arse priests that sometimes come to guest speak are precisely why I left the church. One sermon was enough to turn me off because they're about 100 years behind the times.
