Northern California woman confessed to drowning daughter

WEAVERVILLE, CA (AP) - Authorities say a Humboldt County woman has confessed to drowning her 2-year-old daughter in the Trinity River.

Sheriff's deputies say they found 30-year-old Claudia Pedreros walking naked along a rural county highway Friday after her family had reported her and her daughter Sophia Pedreros missing from McKinleyville.

Search crews found the girl's body Saturday in the river.

Pedreros is scheduled for arraignment Tuesday.
