Theory: Are all of these corporate media hyped Armageddon scenarios ways to fight climate change?
Edited on Tue May-24-11 02:04 PM by cascadiance
It just occurred to me this weekend after the latest well hyped "rapture" mess "failed". I the past many of these whack job ideas wouldn't have been given much attention, and allowed to die outside of the public eye.

But with the latest rapture crap, then more of the same for the coming October, and then in December for 2012 (with the movies, both fictional and "documentaries" made, of it), I wonder if the corporate media is "conditioning" the public towards these all being "failures" so that by the time global warming becomes a more visible problem (if it hasn't already) they can get the general public jaded enough to package the climate change problems along with all of these other nutjob movements, so that they can keep a bigger movement from happening demanding changes made to address climate change.

So even if the conservative religious whack jobs are thinking that they have been failures at getting people to get "saved" by these events, the corporate media and the plutocrats are smiling behind the scenes thinking they are winning with them. Might make the religious whack jobs more subservient to them if they are less strident about things like the rapture too.

1. I think of it along those lines, but leading to a different conclusion.
The push to believe in end days gives TPTB an excuse to change nothing. If the world is going to end shortly anyway, why burden ourselves with cleaning it up.
