Jack Cafferty reflects how accustomed we are to mediocre presidents
Today, jack Cafferty blasted President Obama for being in Europe while the people of Joplin, MO, attempt to recover from the EF5 tornado that struck Sunday. He must be so accustomed to having a president that couldn't do one thing right that he cannot fathom a president that can multi-task.

13. This crew could NOT handle someone like LBJ, one of the reason they hated him so much
When a Hurricane hit New Orleans when Lyndon B. Johnson (LBJ) was President, the Democratic Senator from Louisiana told LBJ, that he should go to New Orleans and show his concern about the plight of the people of New Orleans. LBJ did so within 24 hours of Hurricane Betsy hitting New Orleans.

On October 21, 1965, after his own Gall Bladder Surgery, he visited wounded return Marines and Sailors in the same Naval Hospital he had his own surgery on October 8, 1965, just 13 days before:

On December 23, 1967, after attending a Funnel is Australia for Prime Mister of Australia, he delayed his return trip via Pakistan and Rome for a quick stop over Vietnam. Unlike his previous trip which had been planned, this was a done on the fly, LBJ attended the Funnel, returned to Air Force One, and told the Pilot to fly to Vietnam instead of directly to Pakistan as originally planned. No President has done anything like that since.:

LBJ could, and did work with the unexpected, something every president since has avoided.

3. Mediocre? After the shrub, a rotting fish on the beach would be considered a good president.
Fortunately, we got an adult this time.

6. I guess they don't have telephones or intenet access in England.
Obama is totally out of touch while he cavorts and drinks champagne with the British royal family - Why isn't he back in Missouri and/or Oklahoma, personally picking up debris and saving people? He can't possibly know what's going on, or make contact with FEMA officials. The whole US grinds to a halt while the President visits Europe because nobody can do anything without him.

:sarcasm:

8. That pretty much sums it up.
I guess it didn't matter that another round of violent storms was expected in the region, either. Funny how the people who are bitching now are the same ones who always used the "The President is always working, even when he's at his fake ranch in Texas" line.

9. wasn't he already in Ireland by then or on his way?
We certainly didn't realize the extent of the damage/loss of life until Monday at the earliest.

That's just a silly argument.

11. Obama mobilized the proper emergency services while
Bush was fiddling at a fundraiser.

Last in cable "news" CNN has lost it's audience trying to be like Fox "News".

HE can't multitask (if driving and not running people over counts, ran 2 red lights trying to get away):

should we expect responsible journalism from him?

17. Jack Cafferty was quite the DU hero back in the Little Boots era.
Search DU's pre 2008 archives.

Loyalty and consistency appears not to be a DU strong point.
