Poll question: Ryan's Medicare plan or Repuke Backlash?
Why are the repukes losing left and right currently?

Why did Florida(Jacksonville), who elected Rick Scott in 2010, elect the first Democratic Mayor last week. Also, the first African American mayor in the city's history.

Why did a district in New York that had not elected a Democratic rep since 1950, just elect a Democrat tonight?

Is this a single issue victory in the NewYork 26, or a larger backlash against all things Repuke and TeaBag-ish?

1. Is there a difference?
Ryan's plot against Medicare is the cause of a backlash against Republicans.

2. I think i was the Ryan plan, but also backlash against the Pubs!
I know I've had discussions with people who can't believe how bad the election of a bunch of Pubs has become, and it's occurring in every State where a Pub governor was elected too! People are really PISSED!

3. as someone in that district, i would say it was a couple of things.
first of all, i think ryan's plan had a lot to do with it as well as the way republicans have been acting in general. davis helped cyphon votes. but corwin was her own worst enemy. she came out immediately with the negative ads. i never saw a positive this is what i will do ad from her. i think people here resented the national influx of money and input and the robocalls hurt her. so impersonal. i didn't get any because i am cell only but my sister did. she posted about it on fb. in the end i think corwin did herself in more than anything else.

8. Perhaps a combination of things.
The Ryan Plan has certainly crystallized the differences between the Parties...but maybe this was only the straw that broke the camels back. Perhaps the voters have watched a Republican Party completely fail to address jobs as they promised. Could be their unfounded attacks on all things Obama. Could be the hatred and divisive social agenda. Or their determination to subsidize the oil companies. Could be the radical dismantling of the middle class that they are preoccupied with.

There are lots of good reasons why the voter is turning away from the Republican Party, the Ryan Plan may be the tip of the spear. I suspect that when they autopsy the results, there will be no one reason to explain why it happened...and that's going to be a big problem for them in trying to find a fix to this problem over the next 18 months. I think we'll be seeing a very confused Republican Party going forward. Do they continue on the same path? Try a gentler, more conciliatory approach (which will piss off their teabagger primary voters to no end)? Sucks to be them.
