Yep, Palin's running for president.
Shortly after Republicans swept last November to a historic victory in which Sarah Palin was credited with playing a central role, the former Alaska governor pulled aside her close aide, Rebecca Mansour, to discuss a hush-hush assignment: Reach out to conservative filmmaker Stephen K. Bannon with a request. Ask him if he would make a series of videos extolling Palin's governorship and laying to rest lingering questions about her controversial decision to resign from office with a year-and-a-half left in her first term. It was this abdication, Palin knew, that had made her damaged goods in the eyes of some Republicans who once were eager to get behind her potential 2012 presidential campaign.

The response was more positive than Palin could have hoped for. He'd make a feature-length movie, Bannon told Mansour, and he insisted upon taking complete control and financing it himself -- to the tune of $1 million.

The fruits of that initial conversation are now complete. The result is a two-hour-long, sweeping epic, a rough cut of which Bannon screened privately for Sarah and Todd Palin last Wednesday in Arizona, where Alaska's most famous couple has been rumored to have purchased a new home. When it premieres in Iowa next month, the film is poised to serve as a galvanizing prelude to Palin's prospective presidential campaign -- an unconventional reintroduction to the nation that she and her political team have spent months eagerly anticipating, even as Beltway Republicans have largely concluded that she won't run.

21. Hopefully Frank Bailey's book will counteract any bump
she might get from this film. She may think she's running, but I think she'll be destroyed before the convention rolls around.

2. Any takers against her getting the nomination?
The last I looked, she had an advantage in the polls. This is a double edged sword. It's gonna be funny. But we're going to see how many people truly believe that Ms. Palin should be the next POTUS, and that is frightening. Some people really want to go there.

8. I really don't think so, unless her handlers have performed some miracles in the last three years.
Even so, regardless of her politics, the woman doesn't have the credentials to the President. She didn't even have the commitment required to finish her term as governor, for crying out loud. Still, there are some who honestly believe that she could and should win our next election. I am sort of hoping she is the eventual candidate. It will be an interesting guage of our country's collective sanity, so to speak.

29. There is nothing left to surprise any more, and here is why I think this:
Edited on Wed May-25-11 05:51 AM by Obamanaut
We (the general public) speak of setting congressional term limits, but we don't use the method already in place by voting congress out of office every two years.

We (the general public) speak of non-performing congresses, and reelect the same non-performers for decades-long careers.

We (the general public), when confronted with the two items mentioned above, will deny that the one who represents *us* is like that, "My Senator (or Representative) is one of the GOOD ones." We refuse to admit that they all are 'like that' when they are elected to fill a spot opened due to death or retirement, or become 'like that' soon after getting a taste of the power in the office.

I think she has a shot at it.

17. To me, that was a sure sign she is not serious
No one makes their way to the White House by appearing in the audience of the Dancing with the Stars finale (especially when your daughter is not in it).

If she is running, she is totally deluded. Well, it's already a given that she's totally deluded. I am just reminding myself why.

12. Bad news
Premiers in Iowa - then on to New Hampshire, South Carolina and the rest of the States.

Isn't is about 100 years to late for Joseph Goebbels Ministry of Propaganda type messaging?

This is her only option as I see it - she CANNOT debate, CANNOT answer those "gotcha" questions.

I admit - I am a bit worried about all of the voters who pay no attention to politics - they will fall n love with the image of the "commonsense" candidate on the movie screen.

I have already read "Blind Allegiance" by Frank Baily and 'The Lies of Sarah Palin" by Geoffrey Dunn. I am convinced that she is a delusional sociopath. But how many of the overall electorate are on to her?

Edited on Wed May-25-11 01:52 AM by divine_truine
palin, like newter, donald douchebag, fuckabee, will never run for the presidency because it will involve actual 'work!' election-voter fraud (& a complicit lousy media) helped propel dick cheney & fuckbush into the executive branch no thanks to a corrupted supreme court... and how did that work out for the country...it didn't! the network media talking heads are continually falling over themselves as to who the gop candidates will be! it's truly sickening to watch or even read about! as far as pawlenty is concerned; if it's one thing i can't stand the most is a wimpy politician trying to act like some tough guy trying desperately to convince people that pres. obama apologizes to the world for america's 'exceptionalism' ...pawlenty raised taxes while gov of minn. and left his predessor with a 6 billion deficit. the republicans have become the party of fakers & charlatans. they know not where their allegiences lie except at the foot of their corporate masters i.e the koch whores (the litmus test that is the 'ryan budget')

Fair-minded Americans! I beseech each and everyone of you to turn out in droves (nov 2012) and throw the disingenous republican party into the trash bin. as soon as they get near any semblance of power what do they do...they want into every women's uterus, attack women's health issues, attack seniors by tricking them into voting for them and then threaten to destroy the nation's safety net (ss, medicare, medicaid) by convincing them a private health insurance company will insure an elder with health issues...not a chance.

never a trust a republican koch-whore! VOTE 4 A DEMOCRAT IN NOV 2012! you'll be glad you did!

BTW, boener, where are the f---ing jobs you miserable drunk! you & cantor & mchenry can sit n spin! when you get to the elbow the rides over a$$hole$!

33. Other than following the 'Palin' stupidities, I have no political experience.
I am an old lady with very liberal leanings. If this ding-bat runs for president, I challenge her to a debate.
I may flunk out but I bet, at my ripe old age, that I will do better than this ....woman....
I can't, for for the life of me, understand why she has even one follower. The woman shows her ignorance every time she opens her mouth.

Any old timers like me care to join me in this debate? Bet we could beat the socks off her.
