Polls show the 26th district election WAS about medicare
they did a story just now on my local news about the national impact. they talked about the polls and voters said it was about medicare. they talked about the third party candidate jack davis and that there was some talk about who was really the tea party candidate and when the tea party backed corwin and ran ads for her, the votes cyphoned off from davis went to hochul. so this was all about medicare.

It makes me wish the senate could have held the vote on the ryan plan last week because I know that gingrinch got slammed for having the sense to criticize it. That means in the senate the repubicans would have felt the need to vote for it because of that. but now that the voters seem to be showing they aren't going to stand for this, if reid actually does hold the vote when they come back like he said he would, i wonder if they will vote against it.

I honestly thought davis really was part of the voting issue here and why hochul won. i think it was that corwin was a sucky candidate and I guess it had to do with medicare. Wow. I wonder what this means for next year then. And I hope whatever it means can last long enough to make it more than a year to another election.

1. Republicans just shot themselves in the foot
The reps really fugded themselves. Thought even they wouldn't be stupid enough to tackle medicare.

Btw, everyone should sign up for this facebook event for the big Medicare vote on Thursday.

2. I'm glad they published poll results on this election, but I would have
bet my last dollar that it was about Medicare before even hearing about a poll. This is the first time I remember so many Pubbies being so stupid and not realizeing how important Medicare really IS to so many people. People who have it WON'T let it go away, and people who are younger have parents, friends & co-workers who convince them how important it is and how much better it is than any damn ins. co. product. The Pubbies are usually very gooid at reading (at least THEIR) people and hitting the right hot buttons. I wonder how they're feeling about Ryan NOW? I'm anxious to see who, if anybody, votes for the Pubbie bill in the Senate...or if they will simply ote "present" and be non-commital.

3. Let the backpedalling begin
but I'm sure we'll see the same heinous republican legislation
pop up again under happy titles like "The I Love You Grandma Act"
