After all, non-organic bananas are among the most heavily chemimcalized - that's probably not a word, but you get the idea - of all fruits. Seems appropriate to associate any of the bushes with toxic products.

Comparing a white man to a chimp is stupidity, as is comparing a black man to a chimp, or a white man to Hitler, or whatever the idiotic comparison du jour is. I would like YOU to answer why you think it is peachy to compare GWB to a chimp, but I couldn't make the same comparison to Obama without being racist?

It's racist for one and not the other because it is a well known racist stereotype for one of their races.
If someone joked about Bush eating watermelon and fried chicken it wouldn't be racist because that isn't a stereotype racists use against white people. It wouldn't even make sense. Just like it wouldn't be racist to talk about how we all knew Obama would be good at math, while if he were a certain different race it would be.

It's actually pretty hard to use racist imagery against white people as a whole because traditionally they haven't been the subject of a lot of racist campaigns. (Subgroups of white people, yes. The Irish, Polish, etc. Just not the race as a whole.)

It could be argued that it's silly, demeaning, cruel, or many other things to call Bush a chimp. It can't be argued that it's racist. Well, it can, but it doesn't make any sense. It has nothing to do with their relative stupidity and everything to do with the history of its use as a racial slur and who it was historically directed at.

Bananas are yummy and stuff but I stopped buying them because of the energy waste. But the Bush's seem just nuts about anything that might waste energy.

That's all it took, 2 strikes against bananas for me, I'll buy more local fruit instead.
