Steve King: "Hard to discourage Bachmann from running"

Steve King: "Hard to discourage Bachmann from running"

Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) said Tuesday evening that he'd be hard-pressed to recommend to Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) that she not run for president.

King, a longtime leading conservative figure in the Hawkeye State whose support could be especially important among social conservatives, said he thought that Bachmann was best-positioned to pick up their supporters.

"She's not only the Tea Party darling, but she is a full-spectrum constitutional conservative and is in the best position to step up and capitalize on some of the dropouts that we've had along the way," King said on the Fox Business Network. "So I think now it would be pretty hard to recommend to her not to run when she has this platform to run from today."

The only thing scarier and more depressing than King and Bachmann are their supporters. These people actually think this is a good idea.

What the fuck has happened to our country?

2. Maybe we can do something about that
With micro-receivers available on the market pretty cheaply, maybe someone skilled at sleight-of-hand can get close enough to her to slip a radio receiver on her person, and then we can broadcast messages from God telling her what to do.

3. Well, King thinks he;s God, so on with the show.
Hey, King. She's taller than you. Don't get your hopes up too much.

5. While I understand your frustration
I also think that a Bachmann run for President is a fantastic idea. The Obama landslide in 2012 would be epic.

It's also kind of funny how King calls this starry eyed nutjob a full-spectrum constitutional conservative when I would seriously doubt the ditzy bitch could quote from the document at length. Michelle Bachmann makes Sarah Palin look like an intellectual heavyweight.

6. "she is a full-spectrum constitutional conservative"
I bet she would not even understand all of those words. The only full-spectrum thing she is, is batshit crazy.

7. I would love for King to encourage Bachman to toss her hat in
I wonder if he has any sway with Palin? Can you imagine the entertainment value of watching those two duke it out in a primary? :D

9. You notice none of them say she would make a
good President, just that she is capable to run. The game of winning or losing is the only thing on their minds, not good goverance.

10. I didn't think Bachman was a real person
The headline is hilarious to me. After all, the author Stephen King wrote four or five books under the pen-name Richard Bachman. So it sounds like Stephen (or Steve) King is trying to talk his pseudonym from running.

Then it sorta makes me wonder if George Stark (from Stephen King's "The Dark Half") is gonna run too.
