Kansas "pastor" arrested in Wyo. Citizens of Wyo let Wichitans know what they think

Wichita

No sin in Wichita?

Wichita must be virtually sinless. So much so that Operation Save America felt it necessary to travel to Jackson Hole, Wyo., to save our souls ("Local pastor arrested in Wyoming protest," May 22 Local & State).

This radical anti-abortion group tried to make Wyoming the first abortionist-free state. During their time here, protesters displayed extremely graphic photos, waved signs accusing a local doctor of being a murderer, and handed out religious tracts. All of this in full view and hearing of our children and very impressionable young people.

Our Jackson residents and Wyoming government are very capable of making our own governing decisions, without outside interference.

I realize this ministry is a small part of your community and not representative of all. I do ask the good people of Wichita to please increase their sinful behavior in order to occupy these people.

Make it bad.

Spirit One Christian Center pastor Mark Holick and his followers will save you.

Boycott Kansas

Greetings from Wyoming. We were the target of Operation Save America last week. My children were confronted by graphic photos of stillbirths and accosted by people handing out pamphlets on the middle school and high school properties.

After being given a restraining order to stay away from the annual Elk Antler Auction sponsored by the Boy Scouts of America, the group showed up anyway and handed out pamphlets. Two were arrested.

Over the past week, the group picketed the main street in our town and carried very graphic images.

Twice a year I make the trip from Jackson to St. Louis to pick up horses. Each year I spend about four nights, eat about eight meals, and purchase about $500 in gas in your state. I will no longer take I-70, but from now on will drive around your state. I will no longer spend money in your state.

GARDNER T. SMITH

Jackson, Wyo.

1. We have to put up with this nutjob daily
We totally understand.

I have taught at HS when they pass out those pamphlets and are very distusting. We have had to deal with the aftermath.

2. He is not a "pastor". He is as much a pastor as Bishop Robinson.
Because he does objectionable things does not mean he is not a believer or not a minister. Such distinctions smack of self-absolution, no-true-scotsmanism and the implicit idea that believers, and ministers, normally behave better than others.

Some don't. this guy is one example.

3. oh I know. I have a very AWESOME pastor. HE is compassionate
and caring for his whole congregation. HE never politicizes from the pulpit. He would never act like Holick...

4. Pastors vary, just as engineers or accountants do. Glad (really!) yours is a good one. nt
