Pakistan officers taught anti-US courses: WikiLeaks
Source: Times of India/Wikileaks

ISLAMABAD: A leaked US diplomatic cable says that senior Pakistani military officers are taught anti-American courses at a prestigious defence university in the heart of the capital.

The cable, published in Dawn newspaper on Wednesday and obtained by WikiLeaks, is likely to fan concerns about loyalties within the military after Osama bin Laden was found living in a garrison city, possibly for years.

Then US ambassador to Islamabad, Anne Patterson, wrote the cable in late 2008 in reference to the National Defence University in Islamabad.

Pakistan officially allied with the United States after the September 11, 2001 attacks in its war on the Taliban and al-Qaida, but has long been accused of playing a double game in supporting Islamist militant networks.

1. hard to say..
What exactly are these "anti-american" courses?

If they are "Americans are all infidels and should be slaughtered" then of course that is a problem. If they are "America was once a beacon of freedom and is now the worlds greatest imperial power and meddler in the rights of others" then, not so much.

6. You would also expect the Pakistani military to wargame scenarios
where we invade them. Hell, we have plans in case we are attacked by Canada.

4. cosmicone
cosmicone

I have told this for years, and years that the government of Pakistan, have been playing both horses on this "war on terror".. And I have just been using my common sense to get this

But, it is ALLWAYS good to se that what you have had the feeling of, is right.. And that common sense often is the best way to figure out a lot of things...

5. Thank you .... what I find amazing is
that my posts are constantly moved from LBN to GD or deleted altogether.

Even this post was originally posted in LBN and met every one of the criteria but was moved to GD.
