We're not going to get any other narrative from them. They have a lot to gain, which is why we're not going to hear any honest debate on the issue. Have you heard ANY pundits talking about other ways to restructure Medicare other than the Ryan plan? They won't. They can't. The editorial boards have handed out the marching orders. It's up to us to fight the bullshit, because the corporate news media is not on our side.

They are framing R's as heroes for tackling this "tough issue" and saying "no seniors will be harmed." Well I'm 50 and I sure as hell will be harmed when I'm a senior, I can guarantee that. And the same with every one of us as we become seniors.

and then in the next breath they talk about how important it is to reduce the corporate tax rate to 26% to help our nation.

Oh it sickens me so damn much. I am so scared the American public will come to accept what they are saying, that seniors should not get healthcare and that's really what is best for our nation.

Plus we give them subsidies and bail them out when they fail so they can give big fat bonuses.

The "affected people" may be 55 or under now, but when they turn 68 or 70 or whatever the retirement age happens to be for them, they will be given a Starbucks coupon (or probably clip one out of the paper or print on on their home computer) and try to get 1/4th or 1/3rd off the price of a month's insurance premium from Fitzwalkerstan's Blue Cross which will be jacked up to the max in price because they are 68 or 70. And all the money they had put away for them for 55 years will go down the Wall Street rabbit hole. (and the banksters will continue to bet against them)

Keep telling Americans the truth. If we could negotiate drug prices, we could go a long way to keep Medicare as it exists now. Medicare works, and it should be working for all people in the future.

They're in the repeating phase. Just keep repeating it...eventually it will become "the truth." It's the fundamental truth behind all advertising, and the reason you see ads repeated six times during the same tv show...sometimes the same ad repeated during a single commercial break. Repetition is how you sell a message. The GOP is excellent at staying focused on their message. Democrats offer all sorts of alternatives, back them up with facts, then tomorrow some other Dem is delivering yet another alternative. We don't stay on message.

Persons not Insured for Medicare

Special rules apply to uninsured persons who are at least 65 but who are
not eligible for Part A under the regular rules. Examples of these persons would
be governmental employees who did not contribute social security or medicare
taxes during their governmental work career or who do not qualify for coverage as
a spouse. A public school teacher, covered by the Kentucky Teachers
Retirement System, whose entire public service was performed at the same
board of education would have been exempt from both social security and
medicare. This teacher, unless qualifying for Part A as a spouse, would have to
purchase Part A coverage by paying substantial premiums.
