"Obama has taken more vacation than any other President!"
This is what I've been seeing over and over from the RWingers on a mom site I visit regularly.

I was wondering what they were talking about, then today, one of them explained it to me (after months of asking for an explanation).

When W went to his ranch, those were WORKING vacations. He was, apparently, "presidentin'" there non-stop.

When President Obama has a state trip somewhere, it is a "vacation". OH, and the same person went on and on (with a lot of affirmation from the other loons) about him drinking Guinness in Ireland, as if one beer makes him some kind of frat boy on Spring break.

Now, I am 100% sure these people are simply crazy.

Hmmmm....this seems rather pointless, but I had to get it out somewhere people would understand why it frustrates me!!!

1. They just have no shame about bald-faced lies, do they?
You can't debate such people. You can't reason with them. You can only defeat them.

8. It's like a train wreck....
...I just find myself slowing down to take a look.

Actually, it is a debate forum and there are some liberal women there too.

The really sad thing is that, in this subset of moms, if you're a Christian, you're also an intolerant bigot. (Is that redundant?)

I'm sure these morons think these fancy dinners are all part of the Obama's relaxing and sightseeing vacation in Europe.

33. Some of the morons don't want to count Bush going to Crawford as vacation time
since he was going to his own "home". They still don't realize that the ranch was nothing but a prop.

17. It Won't Change Their Minds
facts don't register with these people.

I just read a column by Byron York, wingnut, who claims even though Obama is traveling to connect with American's. People don't like it.

Then when it's convenient, they scream about Washington D.C. not being part of real "America"

15. I'd call them "Pathological Projectors"
They've been doing it so long, their conscious mind no longer suspects they are lying. Their subconscious probably knows, making me wonder what their sleep-dreams are like. Maybe they dream scenarios that mimic the world of the waking-life progressive while their conscious mind calls that a nightmare upon awakening :P

when in Dublin.

I forced myself to drink about a dozen when I was there.

29. LOL!!!
When my daughter-in-law moved here (she's Okinawan) she bowed to everyone. Just a quick "informal" bow. After being here about 2 weeks, my whole family and most of my friends were doing it subconsciously. Pretty hilarious to walk into a metal club and get that kind of reception.

She's been here for almost 2 years, now, and only tips her head slightly. It's contagious.

13. Remind the idiots that Bush's ranch was a PROP!!!!
Bush bought the "ranch" at the start of the GOP primaries, and then sold it a few minutes after he left the white house.

The reality is that the puppet masters who controlled Bush wanted to be able to dump him into the middle of nowhere Texas so that he would be tough to reach. He'd be safe from the press. They were hiding him.

So President Cheney could do what he wanted to do.

14. State visits don't count!
Talking to other countries is WEAK, we need to be only at war and controlling our so-called allies because we are the greatest country on EARTH and we should show all those sissy countries what for, especially the ones that waste all their money on health care and the like, we don't need to associate with that kind. State visits are nothing but socialist vacationism. :sarcasm:

not one of those furrin' dark ales and stouts. And the American beer is consumed as cold as possible, not room temperature like they do in those there furrin' countries :P

23. Not to mention..why did bush have to go "cut brush" all the time? It was a
non working ranch bought as a prop for a cardboard cowboy. He was afraid of horses, had no herds or crops of any kind on this "ranch". So why did he have to be there so often?

24. The President never takes "vacations" as we define them; he's got a security detail and
staffers with him at all times. The "office" of the President is wherever the President happens to be at any given moment. Some people probably can't grasp that concept.

31. True, Dubya did all that presidential brush clearing.
Edited on Thu May-26-11 12:23 PM by damntexdem
And I'm sure there was some presidential swimming, cocktail drinking, and plotting with rich cronies in there, too. I know for a fact that there was some presidential hiding from Cindy Sheehan.

In fact, visits to the pig farm (AKA ranch) likely constituted the most-presidential things Dubya ever did.

;-)
