Just ahead of the Memorial Day weekend: Gas Prices Rising Again
Tell me this isn't fixed:

Gas prices rose $.30 in today in the Cleveland area. This has got to stand out!

AAA Northwest Ohio marketing director April Cochran told The Blade newspaper she watched prices spike in Toledo while filling up her car on Wednesday. She paid $3.59 a gallon and says the service station was changing the price to $3.89 as she pulled away.Gas prices had been falling in the state since regular hit a record $4.16 on May 4, according to the daily survey from AAA, the Oil Price Information Service and Wright Express. The auto club said Thursday's statewide average for regular was $3.80, up 10 cents from Wednesday.

Analysts say problems at an Exxon Mobil refinery in Illinois could keep prices high in the Midwest.

I figured they are just gouging us because they can for the holiday weekend. I'm not putting gas in my car again till next Tuesday.

4. Here in Atlanta, they're going down
a penny or two every day. Diesel has fallen about $0.15 in the last couple weeks, and is roughly the same price as midgrade. Two weeks ago, diesel was about the same as regular, and a month ago, it was the same as premium -- gasoline prices here are rather volatile, while diesel prices tend to move more slowly.

6. Of course it's fixed
It ALWAYS goes up on the weekends and up the most before holidays. This is nothing new.

If you don't need gas, wait until next week. You need to fill up on Tuesdays or Wednesdays. Fill up at the beginning of the week before a holiday weekend.

Business is always going to try to screw you. Just be smarter and learn how to beat them.

7. But for those who have to travel this weekend
They bear the brunt of the gouging.

This is done because they know a large share of the population has only 3 days now and 3 days at the end of summer to get away and the oil companies are doing everything they can to make it more costly to do so.

Yeah, I have a choice, park my car all weekend, I probably will, but I have been in the situation where I had to travel over the holiday and this is just criminal.

And it is always a convenient refinery problem.
