I just unsubscribed from Bill Clintons emails today

After he was caught on tape discussing the possible dismantling of Medicare with Paul Ryan my better sense tells me I don't want any more of what Mr Bill is selling.

He said, correctly, that it was not enough to opposes the Ryan strategy on Medicare and do nothing else. He didn't propose dismantling it, privatizing it, reducing benefits or increasing the eligibility age. he said the Democrats would have to come up with something to deal with the future financial shortfalls.

If it's your opinion that absolutely nothing need be done for Medicare to continue on successfully, then you'd better get busy letting people know, because I'm not aware of any politician of either party that would agree with you. If something has to be done (alternative taxes, means testing, reduction in expenses), then the Democrats should get out in front of the debate.

I think he still thinks the 2008 Democratic primaries were a referendum on his presidency and that Hillary was simply a surrogate for him.

For Bill, everything is always about him.

...that I met him campaigning aggressively for President Obama in September 2008. My wife had a 20 minute private conversation with him, and from what I heard, he was as committed as anyone to getting Obama elected.

I have been accused in the past of holding a deep seeded hatred but it has been well founded based on past deeds. :hi:

He has his so the hell with the rest of us. Tax cuts to the wealthy despite 2 (or 3 or 4 if you count Pakistan & Libya) wars, Wall St rigging the system & loss of jobs to benefit the bottom lines of corporations partially responsible for the sour economy, is insanity.

I was a big fan of Mr Bill when he was President and at first when Hillary was running I was a big, big supporter of her but as the campaign wore on the true Hillary started coming out, to me. Bill for all the good he did he caved to the republiCONs on some serious issues that are really hurting all of us today, Nafta comes readily to mind but there were others that without his, at least allowing to be hurts us as a country. I admit that the best 8 years of my life financially was during his term but a lot of the pain I feel today is hangover from his administration.
I just want to add and this is a little off topic but I'm real proud of our President that we have now and the fact I voted for him in both the primary and general. The reason for that pride is he has shown us on many occasion that it is not all about Barack Obama it's about us that he does what he does. I realize many didn't get all they wanted and I'm one of those but looking at the big picture he is doing one hell of a good job for us the average citizen. Sometime you simply have to befriend your enemies in order to defeat them and thats what I see when I think about the relationship between President Obama and wall street. At the end of his term America will be better off for years to come because those of us who voted for him and support him now are sticking with the Man. He simply makes me feel very proud. Proud that we as a country broke the white male rule and I hope the President who follows him is a woman so that we break that rule also. :hi:
For the record I'm a color blind German, Cherokee, Irish and English person all rolled up in one and proud of who I am, an American first.

but i did not hear him say that ryan's plan to cut medicare was that 'something'. apparently you don't think our leaders talk to each other. it's quite possible that ryan waylaid bc on bc's way to an appearance and bc was politely brushing ryan off. at least that's how it appeared to me. not that the big dog didn't do thing i totally disagreed with (nafta, welfare reform).
