Afghanistan/Iraq
First off...I have "skin in the game".
My son-in-law is in Afghanistan.

It's appalling to me that the anti-war movement building under W appears now scattered and disorganized under this President.
The Left is always there ready to hit the streets but that mushy Liberal to moderate center is malleable and in flux. Not wanting to damage this President is a sickening political excuse who's price is paid with the bloody red chunks of human beings.
The Right is always thinking we are "fighting for freedoms", romanticizing war, fascinated with weapons of war, and other such nonsense except for Ron and Rand Paul so never count on the rightwing for anything that makes sense.

This nation's priorities are fucked up and it appears that the powers that own radio and TV are going to keep the people thinking that way.

1. I think many of us who protested during the Bush era have been hopeful Obama is good to his word..
on getting out of Iraq. Troops have been reduced and it looks like we are getting out. On Afganistan many of us agreed with Obama that Afghanistan was a more justified war but I think it is now time to get out of there also. The military option has played out and appears now to be doing more harm than good.

3. 47,000 are left in Iraq. And we are being prepped for leaving 10,000+
past the end of this year.

We'll be in Afghanistan with significant numbers past 2015.

4. I think there will always be some militray presence in Iraq like we have in many other countries..
however that depends on whether the Iraqis will still want us there long-term.
