Waukesha County voters rescued another Republican candidate last week, since Supreme Court Justice David Prosser has that county to thank for his re-election to a new 10-year term on the high court.
Recount results certified by the Government Accountability Board show that, without Waukesha County votes, Prosser would have lost to Assistant Attorney General JoAnne Kloppenburg.
With Waukesha County, Prosser topped Kloppenburg, 752,694 votes to 745,690 statewide - a winning margin of 0.46%. Kloppenburg has until the end of the month to challenge the final results in court.
Without Waukesha County, Kloppenburg won statewide, 712,913 votes to 660,363.
