Log Cabin Republicans: Our mission is to oust Obama...
America's largest gay and lesbian Republican organization, the Log Cabin Republicans (LCR), said stopping President Barack Obama from being reelected in 2012 was one of their top priorities.

Despite the fact that Obama pushed for a repeal of the controversial military policy known as "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" and ordered the U.S. Justice Department to stop defending a key section of the Defense of Marriage Act, former LCR national board chairman Bob Kabel told Newsmax the president was "a real disappointment."

“I, frankly, was one who really believed that perhaps we were at a moment in history where his sort of optimism and sort of self-stated ability to bring people together would actually make a difference," he said.

"But what we've seen in the execution during his administration has really been very disappointing – it's actually the opposite. He's extraordinarily partisan, he's extraordinarily liberal, he's really made very little effort, if any, to bring certainly Republicans and more conservative people together to resolve the nation's issues."

1. LOTS of self-hatred in that stupid group.
Do they beat themselves regularly with whips too? Scream "I hate you" at the mirror? I mean, they have to be the dumbest group in the history of the world.

7. i dont think so. i think they are wealthy, and prefer tax cuts to somewhat sorta equal
maybe not too equal rights.

at least the tax cut under a republican is guaranteed

16. In the stock market it is called fear vs. greed.
I guess in this case it would be self-interest vs. greed.

4. So their mission is to get rid of the guy who repealed DADT
and replace him with...what, exactly? A Republican who thinks gays should be sold to zoos for meat?

I don't see how you can be gay and be a Republican. I can see how you could be a conservative on foreign policy and economic issues, but I don't see how you could be a Republican and a gay person in this day and age.

9. well, if you're a rich, well-connected schmuck in the country club set
it doesn't matter if you're gay/straight/black/brown/white whatever, people have to respect you and kiss your ass regardless...

it's not their fault that most gay people haven't picked themselves up by their own bootstraps and earned respect and equality through wealth

15. Log Cabin Republicans Defy Logic
They claim fiscal conservatism and gay rights to be their primary concerns yet will support a Republican everytime despite the fact that republicans have not excelled in either area. The republican record on GLBT issues alone should make the group anti-republican but it doesn't. It leads me to believe that their distaste for Obama is routed in something else entirely.
