When it was announced that potential Presidential candidate Sarah Palin would attend the Rolling Thunder biker rally on Sunday as part of her mysterious political bus tour, some members of the group complained that she would be "a big distraction."

But what's a few extra reporters in exchange for the chance to see the inevitable (though not unwelcome) sight of Sarah Palin riding on a Harley? Apparently, too much. Palin arrived at Sunday’s rally on a motorcycle driven by her daughter Willow, Politico reports, and only drew about 200 people around her, compared to the thousands in attendance. But organizers of the ride were "clearly frustrated by the media attention and fuss brought by Palin... Yelling, and in a few instances, shoving, they tried to keep away press trying to snap photographs or capture a rare quote." As Palin gave no announcement as to when or how she would arrive, security and press relations were left to "a small group of disgruntled bikers."

“I’m very not appreciative of the way she came in here,” Ted Shpak, the national legislative director for Rolling Thunder, told the Washington Post. Palin apparently came in the front of the Pentagon’s north parking lot, where event staff and press were assembled. “If she wanted to come on the ride, she should have come in the back.”

To be honest, she kind of looks like a lesbian - and before anyone jumps all over me, I'm a lesbian, so I don't mean it as a slur, just as an observation. Though I wouldn't touch that with a 100 foot pole.

Despite what she says, I think her changed appearance has little to do with orthodontia and much more to do with vanity. She's awfully young to start this. Does she want to be Heidi Montag or something?

if she likes being a biker so much why doesnt she get her own bike? this cries of photo op for the biker vote but with the helmet on they blew it

of a simple motorscooter at less than 25 mph, landed headfirst like an arrow.

In the ICU there was some conjecture as to whether/not she would survive, and if so, the extent of the brain damage due to bleeding/swelling, but the neurosurgeon said that without the helmet we would not have even had *that* conversation.

I wear my helmet all the time - now - didn't prior to that.

too, it reminds me of being a kid and going out riding on the back of dad's harley. something with the straight pipes and hot rod custom engines put into my dad's bike and those of his friends gave the smell of the emissions a different odor than that of most cars. perhaps it is a hot rod thing too? any greasers on here ??? my old man was a greaser as a teen hot rods and all, and got into bikes later.

i doubt palin has toured america and gone out riding as many times in her life as i did as a kid, one day i will get a bike too and yes i like the smell and sound of a hot rodded out v twin. i doubt palin even knows what the hell she is talking about.

and is not good, inefficiency is loss of power to gear heads, at any rate i doubt palin really has nostalga for that smell

in the summer jeans and a tshirt are common but many bikers will put on a leather jacket if they will be rolling for skin protection in case of a fall. you then TAKE OFF THE LEATHER WHEN YOU STOP SARAH!!!! and leather chaps are worn when it is cold.

now the other kind of bikers, those on the sport bikes, often wear full leather jackets and pants, often color coordonated to their bikes, to look cool and protect against road rash, to each biker their own style!
