IMHO, Sarah did not do herself any favors

Gentleman" and in it his character was elected on the campaign of "Vote for the name you know." His character's name was the same as a recently deceased incumbent character.

I think it may well be true that many people (as in the above example) will make their selection based on criteria greatly different from actual substance - or some may even disguise how they made the decision.

This guy wears a rainbow pin in honor of his deceased brother, he is a Viet Nam vet, a family man who helps take care of his MIL. On the days when we take rides together, we very rarely speak of anything personal. It took me years of rides before I discovered two of those items just listed (the POW/MIA patch was a give-away, I had to ask when/where he served.) The other two items just came about casually over a period of time.

I genuinely believe many people are deeper than they let on, and most of those don't broadcast what is going on inside them.

It's a holiday weekend and not everyone was home watching the news all day long. I'm not quite sure what the pic is about and the swearing doesn't exactly explain it either.

The poster used bad language, but was incensed that Palin co-opted a rally by veterans for veterans to remind people of the sacrifices they have made.

I have no problem with the poster getting pissed, and I firmly support a person that served for 22 years in getting infuriated that Palin tried to co-opt it into a Tea-bagger event. Not all veterans are Republicans or Teabaggers, and it's shameful that she attempted to show up and make this a photo shoot to convince her fans that she backs veterans - particularly when Republicans want to cut funding for veterans.

I get extremely riled up by gay rights issues because I'm a lesbian, but I get riled up by veterans issues because I have too many family members in the military to ignore them.

I was at a family funeral all weekend. Did not recognize the event, or the tiny photo of your hero Palin. Your attitude here has been rude and insulting.

Should anybody without an honorable, solid military service history, or without a history of solidly supporting soldiers and veterans, do photo ops with veterans? You can't just use whether you like or agree with the person as criteria.

Most of our politicians, including Obama, then become disqualified.

George Bush and Ted Kennedy don't qualify either as both their dads ensured they'd get short, cushy assignments away from danger.

Most of our actors wouldn't qualify either.

McCain gets the right, as does Senator Daniel Inouye and previously Al Gore.

For actors off the top of my head it's Charles Durning, Harvey Keitel and Gary Sinise.
