So Arianna Huffington thinks Palin playing dress-up is the most important news in the world
Edited on Mon May-30-11 12:59 AM by Adenoid_Hynkel
Top story, front page on Huffington Post tonight - banner photo of Sarah posing on her bike with a giant headline of "Miss me?"

On a day that includes the president touring a tornado-ravaged Joplin, veterans honored across the country, street protests in Belgrade, the Indianapolis 500, developments on the Medicare fight, Breitbart caught up in another fake smear effort, Germany pledging to shut down nuclear plants, one of the last shuttle flight wrapping up and many, many more important things, HuffPo sees fit to let a pretend candidate's substance-free photo-op and desperate plea for attention dominate their news coverage.

Congratulation, Arianna - you're no longer part of the solution. You're part of the problem. You're as hackneyed as the rest of the media you so frequently criticize.

As Lawrence O'Donnell said of the New York Times this week, you've jumped the shark

-although one could argue that happened with the AOL sell-out. Either way, you officially suck:

9. HuffPo loves Republican bimbos
Scan the home page each day, and see if you DON'T notice a mention of Palin, Bachmann, Angle, Haley et. al.

And of course, there will always be a mention of a scantily-clad Hollywood celebrity most people have vaguely heard of, a story about some made-up feud between cable news host rivals, ridiculously misleading headlines, and other assorted nonsense and mockrage.

In the beginning, I rooted for their success. Why not dumb down liberalism for the masses? After all, conservatives have been doing it for years with the NY Post, FOX News and the supermarket tabloids, with great success. And I was happy when they kicked Drudge's ass in readership. But HuffPo today is total garbage. At the very least, perhaps they acted as a stepping stone to similar, but better news aggregators like Raw Story and TPM, as readers decided they had enough of the bullshit and craved more substantial news coverage.
