We just got a phone call from the Illinois Teacher Union
It seems that they legislature will not be voting on their "new pension plan" during this session. I would be very surprised if it ever gets voted on, because Mike Madigan was supporting it and they got well over 100,000 letters and emails against the plan, and Madigan is not as stupid as some people say, he knows that if he votes yes his career is over.

1. excellent! I've gotten more calls for 'pension reform,' by groups called something
like "Family Taxpayers," and some other grassroots sounding group. I called that one back and said do what I could to get any tax exempt status they might have rescinded. I did quite a bit of swearing, IIRC.

They were calling me two/three times a day for awhile

I sent notes to my reps (both pugs), telling them I'd work hard against their elections if they voted for this POS
