Well... The Assholes At Third Way Are Loving It...
“Third Way has long argued that entitlement reform should be part of the solution to America’s deficit challenge. Not only will it put us back on a sustainable fiscal path, reform will save and strengthen our social safety net. We applaud the President’s willingness to do the right thing and lay hands on the “third rail” of American politics.

Some on the left will attack the President for putting Social Security and Medicare fixes on the table, but without action these programs will eventually crowd out our ability to invest in America’s future and force us to default on our promise to provide for tomorrow’s seniors. Postponing reform indefinitely is not an option, and to delay is not progressive.

1. If you hadn't identified the source, I would have thought it was
a statement from the GOP.

4. It is the Corporate wing of theDemocratic Party. They are subject
to the exact same pressures as the Corporate Republicans. It's no accident that they seem to agree so much.

11. Yes, it's 100% Republican boilerplate
especially that garbage about "investing in America's future" by stiffing elders so they can go on robbing Social Security to mask tax cuts for the rich and corporate.

Hey, boys! Your way doesn't work! It's never worked! It never will work!

So do us all a favor and join the Republicans. Just go away and let the Democrats return the country to a way that worked for all of us, not just the 400 or so fat cats you think are an endangered species.

Screw the Third Way. Just because they've used a little lube doesn't mean they're not screwing us all.

6. Bill Daley helps Third Way reduce deficits and reform entitlements:
http://www.thirdway.org/press_releases/119

Secretary Daley said: “I believe in Third Way’s unique mission—advancing moderate ideas, challenging orthodoxies, and building a big tent political movement that can attract an enduring majority. Their views are right for both campaigning and governing: pro-market, strong on security, and seeking common ground on culture issues. Third Way is doing exactly the work that we must do—with the White House, Congress and statehouses—if we’re going to own the center of American politics and create the kind of pragmatic change the country wants.”

Mr. Daley continued: “We’ve really got to listen carefully to the public. Voters are not re-embracing conservative ideology. But we must acknowledge that the left’s agenda has not won the support of a majority of Americans—and, based on that recognition, we must steer a more moderate course. Third Way is playing a central role in helping us navigate that course.”

Third Way Board Chairman John Vogelstein added: “Bill will play a significant role in helping Third Way create and promote an economic growth agenda—reducing deficits, reforming entitlements, increasing exports, and driving investments in infrastructure and innovation. No one has better experience to bring to this task—as Commerce Secretary he oversaw a period of extraordinary economic prosperity, expanded trade and fiscal discipline.”

16. Obama's Chief of Staff - Third Way Board Member William Daley
Maybe

http://www.thirdway.org/press_releases/135

"Statement from Third Way President Jonathan Cowan on the Appointment of William Daley as White House Chief of Staff

“Appointment of Third Way Board Member William Daley Sends a Clear Message: Obama Will Govern and Campaign from the Center

“President Obama has made a brilliant choice in naming William Daley, a member of Third Way’s Board, to serve as White House Chief of Staff – and his selection sends a clear signal that he intends to govern and campaign from the center over the next two years.
“In selecting Daley, President Obama has hit the trifecta – a top notch manager, a pro-growth business leader and a moderate Democrat who knows how to work across the aisle.

“Bill Daley is an experienced manager who has run agencies and presidential campaigns; he has the business credentials to help the White House continue to heal the breach between the administration and the private sector; and he is committed to a big-tent politics for the Democratic Party.

“Bill Daley knows exactly how to best help the President recapture the center of American politics. And most importantly, he’ll be a passionate and effective champion for the kind of bi-partisan, pro-growth, fiscally responsible agenda that should be the cornerstone of the second half of the President’s term.”
