Why is this feeling like deja vu?

This new "crisis" feels an awful lot like the "other" crisis....you remember the one? When Bush tax cuts were supposed to expire.....and Obama kept democrats out of the loop until the last possible moment and then threw a crap sandwich at them and forced them to swallow hard?

And then we had a whole plethora of posters here who trumpeted how Obama "saved" the day and how a payroll holiday for social security was actually a stimulus?

I remember. I also acknowledge that the Bush tax cuts for millionaires - including a very generous tax holiday on estates which benefits about 2500 wealthy americans cost the rest of you millions in lost tax revenue.

Tax revenue....that is what this is all about after all. And now, cuts to the social security, medicare safety net are necessary (?) because of Bush and Obama, and GOP assholiness.

It feels allot like Deja vu all right. At the last moment someone will blink....Obama is already blinking furiously....Pelosi not quite so eagerly....and Boehner would smile, except for the ever ready teariness.

I think the Dem's should not blink this time. Not one inch. Not for the GOP, and not even for Obama. I guarentee you. Wall Street stands to lose the most if the debt limit is not extended. Let them do the blinking. They can blink their hearts out to the GOP.

Nothing more.
