Need help: I'm to testify against e-voting in Pennsylvania.
I signed up as a plaintiff in a case being brought in Pennyslvania that has been dragging on for years. At the time I signed up, I was more informed, and have lost track of details now so many years later.

I have to give a statement in a week or two. I've not personally experienced any problems myself, so my testimony will be based on concerns of others, and they said that is fine.

If you were giving the statement, what would you say? Maybe some specific examples would be good?

Thanks to anyone who can help.

1. More of a question: why isn't there a paper trail I can inspect and what does a recount really mean?
There's no paper trail, so there's no way to do a manual recount.
The only "recount" they have is to ask the machine for the same fucking numbers it already provided. What's the point?

2. Please x-post in the Pennsylvania Forum.
I believe there is a poster there who is knowledgeable on this issue. If not, maybe she can refer you to a good source.

3. It's probably a god idea to post this in the Election Reform forum.

4. one of my biggest hates of e-voting
It undermines the confidence of Americans in the voting system. There is no paper trail to follow.

We are America and should have the cleanest, most transparent voting system possible. A paper ballot to count and recount is the most transparent and safe. To have anything less than that is not acceptable from the world's leading democracy.

Good luck!!!
