Remember when Republicans were afraid of uncertainty in the business world?

It was during the health care debate. The Republicans claimed that somehow the possibility of removing the burden of providing health care to employees gave employers so much uncertainty about the future that it paralyzed any plans they had for future hiring. I could not follow the argument myself, but somehow they got from one point to the other.

So now we find the Republican Party on the verge of throwing the value of the dollar in the trash can, with their behavior on the Budget Cap having been so erratic (always jerking to the right) as to leave everyone in suspense as to where we might end up, utterly ruined or just horribly scared. Does not this introduce some level of uncertainty in the business community?

Why was uncertainty so important last year but of no concern at all now?
