Bachmann did not read pledge calling slavery a better arrangement for blacks

http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2011/07/11/bachmann-denies-marriage-pledge-was-about-slavery/
When Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann signed a pledge that claimed black Americans were better off as slaves than they are today, she apparently hadn't read it in detail.

Her campaign said Saturday that she actually didn't agree with that part of the pledge.

By signing the pledge created by Iowa-based Christian group The Family Leader, Bachmann agreed to opposes same sex marriage, oppose Sharia law and ban "all forms of pornography."

The "marriage vow" also begins by noting that the children of slaves were better off than African-American children today.

"Slavery had a disastrous impact on African-American families, yet sadly a child born into slavery in 1860 was more likely to be raised by his mother and father in a two-parent household than was an African-American baby born after the election of the USA's first African-American President," the document (PDF) claimed

Seriously, everytime I think we've seen Michelle Bachmann reach rock bottom in the world of stupidity she manages to find a way to go even deeper than before.

Oh and the reason many slave children had '2-parent' families is that it was not uncommon for slave women to be raped by their master. I hardly call that an idea family situation.

3. Horse hockey!
Only one slave state, Louisiana, recognized marriage between slaves. A married couple could still be bought and sold, of course, but they had to go as a unit.

In all other slave states, couples could be and often were broken up under an auctioneer's gavel. So much for Bachmann Loser Overdrive's misty-eyed version of antebellum family values. :eyes:

" . . . she apparently hadn't read it in detail."

An attorney who doesn't read what she signs. Especially a tax lawyer.

10. "she apparently hadn't read it in detail"
Even if she had, she would not have been able to comprehend what the pledge meant.

Batshit Bachmann would blindly agree with any pledge, but only if she is advised that it involves and benefits the wealthy, GOP, teabaggers, conservative causes, rightwing rhetoric, and Christian fundamentalists.

Nowadays, when I come across the word "no-brainer" online or in print, Michele (crazy-eyes) Bachmann immediately springs to my mind.

Truly sad and pathetic that this ignorant and intellectually-challenged woman has managed to become re-elected as a member of Congress, gerrymandered district or not.

Not to mention that she has also managed to delude herself into believing that she is or has become "divinely" selected by her God and is worthy and qualified to run for and become elected as POTUS. Truly intelligent people, IMO, have at least a halfway-decent measure of humility and common sense, which Bachmann, from all evidence and indications, truly and clearly lacks.

11. Oh, yes. She could, and will. Just give her a few days.
Just when you think she couldn't possibly say something dumber, she does. There is no bottom to the pit of her dumbness.
