My letter to my Senators and congresswoman re: SS & Aug3

I'm on SSA/SSI amd Medicare/Medical. I have no other resources, no family, nothing. I'm disabled and cannot work.

I'm in despair over the proposed Social Security/ Medicare cuts and Obama's statement that if the debt ceiling isn't raised there will be no checks on August 3rd.

If any of those things happen I am likely to become homeless. I won't be able to buy food for my cats, pay my bills, buy toilet paper or my medications. It won't matter about my cats because I will most likely not survive.

Why can't we spend less on the military or tax the rich?

Is there anything you can do? I'm desperate. I can't take this.

and it pisses me off that you are. My-blood-is-boiling! I hope they at least read your letter, but don't hold your breath. They really do NOT give a crap about you/us/the poor/unemployed/uninsured. In fact, I think they truly hate the tax payers of this country.

Sort of stream of consciousness, I wanted it simple but flavored with how I feel.

Easier said than done but know that you and many others are in the same situation.

Shame on you Mr. President for evoking fear and panic and undue stress in the elderly and the sick!!!

I already get all my food from food banks. I collect bottles to make ends meet (buy protein and my meds)and there are fewer bottles out there now, I can tell you. The competition is fierce. On my bad weeks I don't get as many and do without. I stretch my cheap shampoo and conditioner to last 3 months.

The wait for Housing assistance is interminable.

Last month my supposed "Smart Meter" charged me $200 when my electric is always around $25. They insist the meter was accurate. How?!! I use fans, my tv, my computer and my CPap machine.

I'm crying right now. I've already canceled my cable and cell phone. A friend paid this quarter's dial up for me, but I won't be renewing it in October.

Fuck the Republicans and the blue dog they rode in on.

This is a disgrace!

If Pres. Obama allows this to happen it is on him 100% no ifs ands or buts about it!

I thought he said that no one would touch Social Security "under his watch".

He is a sly fox and he is in a corner. This is the only medicine he can dish out being he is so desperate -- to injure the American people and have them crying for god's sake.

I was past anger. Just didn't know how to be nasty. Just wanted to tell the simple truth. Not just my truth but everyone of us pawns that just got put in harms way for some 3D chess move.

We were both in tears, trying to understand how we can be used as pawns in this. Were trying to figure out if this is just a bluff to get the GOP blink or what if it really happens? Our emotions are ragged with fear, despair, anger. hopelessness.

How many of us are on the emotional edge already: will this tip them over? How many will become ill just waiting for a reprieve? I haven't been able to eat today from the stress.I'm sick with crying, afraid to go to bed for fear of waking up to even more bad news.

And what of all those landlords waiting for their checks on the 3rd of August?

No one cares that the pawn bleeds and cries when they are cast off the board.
