Girl found dead after hide-and-seek game
Police: Girl found dead after hide-and-seek game

(07-12) 18:45 PDT PHOENIX (AP) --

Police in Phoenix say the body of a 10-year-old girl was found in a small trunk that she apparently used for a game of hide-and-seek.

Authorities say it appeared the South Phoenix girl used the foot locker for the game Monday night with neighborhood children and some cousins.

Police spokesman Sgt. Trent Crump says her family found the girl outside a home Tuesday morning.

Police say it appears to be an accidental death.

6. Ai yi yi
I know sometimes it's easy to make what you think is a funny remark when in reality it's a pretty heartless comment. Perhaps you'd be better off just deleting it if you have time.

7. This use to happen all the time back in the 50's and early 60's
when there were still a lot of old ice boxes and refrigerators that used latch type door handles. I remember they even had TV commercials warning of the danger and telling people to take off door latches.

11. Yep. Now it happens with car trunks.
I had a fridge with one of those big door latches you have to pull hard on...back in the early 80s. The fridge looked to be 10 to 20 years old at the time.

10. This used to be a problem with old unused refrigerators -the kind with the latching doors;
kids would hide in them and not be able to get out. Maybe glow-in-the-dark release latches on the inside (for new foot lockers) wouldn't be such a bad idea?
