and actually got receptionist not a recorder. I expressed my concern about the McConnell plan.
I said the way it was described on Keith Olberman's show last night was that the Republicans still were not budging on closing tax loopholes, yet there would still be changes to Medicare on the supplier's side, and possibly still some as yet known changes to SS. It was said that Nancy Peolosi was fighting changes but she was likely to loose on this.
I also said I realize this is not a done deal but it has not been dismissed by our side, out right yet either. And that any future deals should not be made with even similar parameters.
I said I urged the Senator to vote no, on anything that would let the wealthy completely off the hook and leave the Srs. and Disabled holding the bag with all the cuts. Or at least have all the negotiators involved quit calling it "shared sacrafice," as that is adding insult to injury.
The receptionist said she would pass the message along to the Senator, and that I am not the first call she's had to day expressing the same concerns. So at least that last bit is encouraging. People are letting them know they are not happy about this.
Whether they will listen is any one's guess.
Called Schumer's office too but got a recorder so I left a message. To be fair I have gotten actual email responses from his office addressing the actual content of my messages before, and not just chain letters, so they do seem to actually read them.
The Republican pig who is my house rep, stands with the tea party so I am not bothering.
