NM man accused of handing out semen-tainted yogurt
Source: Boston Globe

Anthony Garcia, 32, appeared in court Thursday after being indicted the day before on charges of adulterating food and making false statements to federal investigators.

U.S. Attorney Kenneth Gonzales described the conduct alleged in the indictment as outrageous.

"No one should have to endure this type of experience simply because she or he accepts a food sample while shopping for groceries," Gonzales said.

8. Why are the feds investigating this?
It is a horrible crime, but why isn't the local PD pressing charges?

How do federal agents even have jurisdiction? Did he export semen tainted yogurt across state lines?

9. It may be because the semen-tainted yogurt was given to a child by the defendent, among others.
IIRC, the bastard gave a cup of this to a little girl, around 5-6, to consume. The little girl said it tasted nasty or strange and so the mother tasted it and instantly recognized the taste of semen.

Anyway, I'm assuming this is federal either because of the little girl as just one of the victims or because it had to do with some reading of the nature of the crime, itself.

That's just my guess.

They are in intense competition with one another, but Spitz currently has the most market share.
