GA Du'ers: I drove over and around Lake Lanier today. Looks pretty full. How low did it get....

last year when there were several threads about it?

I drove across GA 20 from I 75 to Gainesville, then down to Alpharetta, crossing several bridges over various parts and it looked quite good. Only maybe 2 or 3 feet of bank showing.

I'm curious for those of you familiar with this lake, just how low did it get during the recent lowest point?

BTW, That is a VERY pretty section of your state. Rolling hills, lots of green, lots of trees and some spectacular homes. Plus, a pretty nice lake!

1. It's been holding it's own this entire year. Today it's at 1,067 ft

in January it was 1,067 ft. and full pool is 1,071 ft. We've had extremely hot weather this year but we've also had lots and lots of rain. Unless something drastic happens in August, I hink e're home free for 2011.

I live about 5 minutes from Lake Lanier, just north of the Lake Lanier Islands. It is a very nice part of Ga.
