For whom were Breitbart and O'Keefe hacking/wiretaping?
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2011/07/15/995036/-Murdoch%E2%80%99s-Hacking,-Breitbart%E2%80%99s-Wire-Taps?via=sidebar
<snip>
I’m delighted to see all the heat being brought to bear on Murdoch’s sleazy News Corp, so much so that it appears we’re going to need mothership diaries to track the action.

While this is good, the crimes of Big Government’s field operative, James O’Keefe, are quite similar in nature, much simpler to prosecute, and I believe a Department of Justice inquiry will reveal that it isn’t just luck that keeps Andrew Breitbart in the middle of all these events.

Fearlessly traverse the inscrutable squiggle of additional content for the particulars …
JamesOKeefeIII was caught tampering with Senator Mary Landrieu’s phone system in 2010.

James O'Keefe, the young conservative filmmaker who was behind the undercover operations that led to the ACORN scandal last year, was arrested with three others for allegedly trying to tamper with the phones at the New Orleans office of Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-LA) yesterday.
----------------
Any day now this is all going to blow wide open

This was a very straightforward crime. Why wasn’t it a felony? Could the answer be that one of the other three arrested, Robert Flanagan, is the son of western Louisiana U.S. Attorney William Flanagan?

3. I'm not sure why they refer to O’Keefe as "Big Government’s field operative".
He's not working for the government, he's anti-government (and anti-American as far as I'm concerned).

But to answer your question, since his videos were pushed hard by Faux News I assume that he was doing it at least partly for them, and of course they are part of Murdoch's empire so it all leads back to News Corp.

6. Ding ding we have a winner
And who are the ReTHUG operatives who peddle their criminality as news on other stations? Calling Joe Scum! Calling Pat Buchanan! Calling David Gergen!
These fuggers must have some secret club somewhere. Men and women must be sweating and fretting.

7. "Big Government" is the name of Andrew Breitbart's site
That's what the reference means.

9. biggovernment.com, that's what they are talking about.
But yeah, that's why this situation is so cartoonish in some ways. You already have ALL this tapping on record, sitting right at the surface. The guy attempting to put phone taps on government officials. I remember them fussing over some female government official quoting Mao or something, but it turned out it was a joke at a birthday party. They had no idea how Fox got the personal video of the birthday party. Somebody who works there says Murdoch is Tony Soprano, thing after thing like that.

11. I'm betting that they were all contracted to Fox
just like the criminals in Britain.
I hope Holder plans to follow the money thru the Young ReTHUGS, old ReTHUGS and Fox.

10. Could it be that the DOJ
is still just as fucked up as it was under Bush? They don't act at all like I would expect them to under a Democratic president.

Who is behind James O'Keefe?

Follow the trail...

James O'Keefe and Hannah Giles were/are both associated with the Leadership Institute:

http://www.campusreform.org/blog/the-leadership-institu...
http://www.nytimes.com/2009/09/19/us/19sting.html

Hannah Giles' Father is associated with the YAF (Young Americans for Freedom/Young America's Foundation):

http://www.yaf.org/SpeakerDetails.aspx?id=277

Stan Dai is a member of the YAF (Young Americans for Freedom and its sister Organization, Young America's Foundation):

http://www.thephillipsfoundation.org/index.php?q=node/2...

The YAF and the Leadership Institute work together:

http://www.campusreform.org/resources/programs-services... (scroll down and see who funds campusreform.org)

Who is behind the YAF? Richard Viguerie:

http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=Young_Americ...

Who is behind The Leadership Institute? Morton Blackwell:

http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=The_Leadersh...

Sniff around the links I provided. Google the names. Note interesting ties such as Hannah Giles' being a graduate of Blackwell's National Journalism Center.

While it's interesting to point fingers at BreitBart as O'Keefe's mentor, I think the pockets funding this little bastard are much deeper.

All roads lead to Breitbart and the RNC

As for Breitbart, he also has a strong YAF tie-in, for which he's listed as part of their speaker's bureau: http://www.yaf.org/andrew-breitbart.aspx

I've done some brief digging, but have yet to find anything that directly ties Murdoch to Breitbart - Murdoch is a dinosaur of the Right-wing MSM while Breitbart is small game, one of those furry proto-lemurs from the same era before most of the world got wiped out by asteroids. They didn't associate much, AFAIK. Let us know what you find.
