This is how I see debt ceiling talks:

Obama: Come one Nancy and Harry, this is the best deal we can get. Gutting Social Security and Medicare with the future promise of tax hikes in 2016! I'll be long gone from office and you guys can fight it out then!

Nancy and Harry: Are you out of your fucking mind? We won't vote for that. Get a substantial increase in taxes for the wealthy or we walk from this deal. And we really mean it this time. We're not going to accept a secret deal you have made with Republicans again. We remember how you forced us into accepting the extension of the Bush tax cuts just a mere 7 months ago. While we were winning the debate with the public, none the less. Pulled the rug right out from underneath us! Not AGAIN!

Obama: Ok, you guys have figured my strategy out. If you really are going to tank this deal, I'll go back one more time to Boner and tell him we need an additional 400-500 billion in tax increases on the wealthy.

Obama: Hey Boner, we can't get my deal through the democratic caucus unless you agree to a measly 400-500 billion in tax hikes for the wealthy. That's doable, right?

Boner: What? We had a deal! I told you we will not accept a deal with tax hikes on our "job creators". We say NO DEAL! Cut "entitlements".

Obama: I want to cut entitlements and have given you everything you want on that front, but the idiots in the Democratic Caucus who do the voting won't support it w/o tax increases on the wealthy. I can't convince them you promise in the future to do away with the Bush tax cuts.

Narrator: Wonder WHY??

Boner: Well, this is no deal. I'm walking away. Even though I agree with you that we should gut SS and Medicare.

Obama: Well then, I'm going to go to the American people and tell them how you want to gut SS and Medicare with my support and are obstinate in cutting a deal to do that just that. All for a measly 400-500 Billion in tax increases for the "job creators". I'll be a hero for saving Social Security and Medicare!

Anyone paying attention: yeah right.......
