Lynea Lattanzio has saved almost 19,000 cats over the last 20 years.
Lynea Lattanzio, of Parlier, California, lives with over 700 felines.

But she insists she's no crazy cat lady.

On the contrary, Ms Lattanzio, the star of a new Nat Geo documentary, runs Cat House on the Kings - a '12-acre no-cage, no-kill cat refuge' where she takes in strays, offers low-cost spaying and neutering referrals and facilitates pet adoptions.

4. Since the cats are apparently not limited to the indoors,
I wonder how many birds the residents of her shelter have killed over the years. Having such a large population of cats in one area is going to dramatically effect the local, natural inhabitants. I applaud her heart in this matter, but she really needs to keep those cats indoors.

8. Most excellent!
And the cats in the pics all look well cared-for. Imagine feeding and cleaning up after (and treating any health issues of) so many cats! That's true dedication. I hope she has plenty of resources to work with.

9. Applaud the spay and neuter aspect of this -
but with my allergies I'd need a lot more than 12 acres to deal with 700 cats! Kudos to her though - it looks like she's managing to keep them healthy and re-home some as well.
