In his memoir Breivik blames his father for their estrangement after he was caught spraying graffiti on walls in his early teens. He writes: ‘I have not spoken to my father since he isolated himself when I was 15 – he was not very happy about my graffiti phase from 13 to 16.

He also criticised his sister for having too many sexual partners, and condemned his mother’s ‘lack of judgment’ in marrying his stepfather Tore, a major in the Norwegian military.

Although he described Tore as ‘very likeable’, he was also a ‘very primitive sexual beast’ who after they split up was ‘spending his retirement with prostitutes in Thailand’.

It seems like the majority of politicians in Washington take their issues out on the people ( though not as extreme as murder but still everyone suffers for their mommy daddy issues). :puke: I got childhood issues too but I'm the only one who suffers with them ... One day I had a friend request on Facebook from Anders Breivik. There wasn't anything odd about that: when I was a member of SD I was magnetically attractive to everyone who called himself a nationalist: both those for whom it was a game, and the real extremists. Those were, in fact, the people who drove me away from the party. A machine of hate propaganda pumped through my feed on Facebook. There were YouTube clips of massacre victims, demands that all the "fucking niggers" should get out of the country, and far more horrible things.

I reacted by backing away. But for many other people who are weak, or feel bad for some reason, this stream was something to drink from. They egg each other on to believe that the Social Democrats are guilty of all the horrors we'll come to experience; that immigrants rape and murder and that it's the socialists' fault. It is the fault of Mona Sahlin, former Social Democrat leader, that we will be forced to wear burkas and live under sharia law by 2020.

I'm not saying it's wrong to have opinions about immigration, or to protest against the people who really do want Sweden to allow Muslims to have their own courts and laws. I don't think it's right that our borders should be wide open, without any controls – but I utterly reject these reactions. Hatred breeds nothing but hatred.

Now I will continue to feel sick that I had one of the worst murderers in years on my friend list. I am ashamed of that. I am ashamed.

in warning people to be very careful about blaming others for Breivik's horror--even if their views are way different from our own. I know it's tempting to feel somehow validated in our progressive views that a psycho describing himself as a "Christian conservative" slaughtered 80 children in cold blood. I went through this on Day One--saying to myself, 'there they go; that's what the rightwing is all about!' It took some hard thinking to get over this. It WASN'T "Christian conservatives" who murdered these children! It was Breivik, or some nazi cabal that he's part of, and/or evil persons behind the scenes. (It's quite possible we don't know the whole story yet.) It is unfair and wrong to blame as class of people for this. This doesn't mean we shouldn't think about it, investigate it, discuss it--and even worry that leftists have become a target of some organized nazi movement. (First the Giffords shootings, now this. Are these "programmed" murderers? That's one of my questions.) But to throw Breivik at somebody, because of their rightwing political, social or religious views, when they had nothing to do with this, accomplishes nothing and gives them no room to think for themselves--and also promotes a unhealable divisions among people.

I appreciate "ashamed""s agony, and I hope his or her thoughtfulness grows and influences others.
