I am confused (what's new)

We have been hearing for weeks that President Obama put the entitlement on the table. But, last night the orange drunk other wise known as Boner, said "The president is adamant that we cannot make fundamental changes to our entitlement programs" If they are on the table that doesn't sound like "cannot make fundamental changes" to me.
Many of us have signed petitions, written elected officials and posted here on DU our opinion to entitlements being on the table. Just who said they were ON the table? We ARE being lied to, I just don't know by who?

2. On the table.

In negotiations, the only time something is off the table, is when both sides agree that it is off the table. The gopers always want to cut SS and Medicare/Medicaid, so it's always on the table. Saying everything is on the table merely accepts that reality, it doesn't mean the gopers get what they want.
