Toss the republicans a law that they can't say no to. Something like putting Ronald Reagan on the $10 bill. Somewhere in the bill put an allocation for making this change (cost of engraving plates etc.). They pass it. Sign it with some kind of statement to the effect that since they are voting to spend money you are interpreting this as consent to take on more debt for this and other US government functions.

Edited because nobody needs an egregious singing statement

1. A singing statement might be more fun. LOL.
What would be a good song?

2. That may very well be Obama's ace in the hole
hadn't thought about a signing statement.

4. Excellent! That reminded me of this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Executive_order

It should be even easier. There have been only two challenges (from the above link):

"Legal conflicts

To date, U.S. courts have overturned only two executive orders: the aforementioned Truman order, and a 1996 order issued by President Clinton that attempted to prevent the U.S. government from contracting with organizations that had strike-breakers on the payroll. Congress may overturn an executive order by passing legislation in conflict with it or by refusing to approve funding to enforce it. In the former, the president retains the power to veto such a decision; however, the Congress may override a veto with a two-thirds majority to end an executive order. It has been argued that a Congressional override of an executive order is a nearly impossible event due to the supermajority vote required and the fact that such a vote leaves individual lawmakers very vulnerable to political criticism."

5. Hey, it's not like it hasn't been done before! Clever thought, that.
Sidebar: Wasn't Bonehead's rendition of "Zip-a-dee-doo-dah" a sufficient example of egregious singing?

6. But wouldn't Ultra-Left Progressives say that's proof Pres. Obama is really a Republican
if he did that?

Considering how he's been lambasted for just about every compromise he makes that has just a whiff of a Republican scent on it, he's accused of going hard right.

I don't think this will work. I think he should do what the ultra-left Progressives want him to do - become a dictator. Declare martial law.

Maybe then they'll be happy because he hasn't made them the least bit happy since he took office. Ask Jane Hamsher who blasted him not three weeks after his inauguration which totally turned me off her when I had been a HUGE fan.

7. Nope.
You need to grasp that for the ultra left it's not about Obama, it's about policy.

10. Policy?
Sorry. But I've read more than enough posts and comments on here and other sites, that it's all about PRESIDENT Obama. The fact that I know Progressives are are intelligent, analytical thinkers makes it all the more egregious to me that the ultra-left Progressives are quick to crucify President Obama for things they'd easily forgive any other Democrat - even one like John Edwards.

So, spare me.
