Is it better for the Boehner plan to pass the House or die in the House?
I think we can stipulate that all of us here on DU are against the Boehner plan. That's not the issue I am raising here.

The question I raise is if it is better to have the Boehner plan pass the House and die in the Senate, OR is it better for the Boehner bill to die in the House due to unanimous Democratic opposition and a Tea Party revolt?

What is the better outcome here? Better in the sense that a favorable resolution can be reached.

(I would appreciate minimal snark, BTW)

1. The best outcome would Boehner having to pull it himself cause it could not pass. Second best..
would be dieing at the hands of the Tea Party.

2. To die
but I'm thinking it's going to squeak through.

If it died it would be easier for the Senate Dems to take the initiative with their own better bill.

4. Tough to say
If the tea party ends up voting for it, it may embolden their people to primary Reps with those even further to the right of clinically insane.

If they stand their ground and it dies in the House, it may embolden their people to primary Reps with those even further to the right of clinically insane.

If it dies in the house, Wall Street and the CoC may pull out all of the stops (if they have any stops left) to squish these people.

6. I believe no plan can pass the house without Democrat support. The Tea Party won't budge.

I think the Tea Party believe what they are doing is best for the country in the long run.
I don't think they care who gets hurt in the short run. To them, it's a matter of principle.

Boehner can't control them. I'm waiting for them to try to take the Speakership from Boehner.

Any Tea Party leader who tells them what they are doing is wrong will be branded a traitor.

Given my beliefs, Boehner's plan, or any plan in the House, won't pass the House.

We should spend our time preparing for the inevitable.
We need to make sure the blame is laid at the Tea Party's feet where the blame belongs.

7. Democratic support? Or the support of Democrats?
Please don't take your grammar from Rush Limbaugh.

8. I don't listen to Rush Limbaugh. Blue Dogs may support Boehner. That shouldn't be enough.
